Friday Faves 4/18/14

1. Doctor Who Cross-stitch

IMG_0180.JPG

I finally finished my Doctor Who cross-stitch project! I’m excited with how it turned out, and I can’t wait to get it framed. I have the pattern for another one, this time with my favorite Companions….but I don’t think I’m ready to start it just yet. Not sure what my next project will be, but I’m starting to get the urge to finish a Christmas ornament or two….you know, so I actually get at least one done before Christmas.

2. Battlestar Galactica

Another completion this week! I binge-watched somewhere around 9 episodes of BSG early last week, and finished the last couple of episodes over the weekend. I really enjoyed this show and wish I had watched it years ago. The last scenes were particularly haunting.  Last week I read that Universal wants to create a reimagined movie version of Battlestar Galactica. I’m really not sure how I feel about that… I know the series itself was a remake, but it was done so well that I have no desire to see the new versions of the characters.

3. Infinity Scarf

As part of my quest to accessorize and update my wardrobe, I purchased an infinity scarf from Gertie & Baxter on Etsy. It’s great quality, and I’m now trying to decide which scarf I should get next.

4. Drive-in Movie Theater

For my birthday weekend, my husband and I went on a date to the drive-in movie theater about an hour north of us. It was the first time either of us had ever been to a drive-in, and it was so much fun! The theater showed a quick clip about the decline of the drive-in, and that plus our experience made us decide that we’ll make this a regular thing. What is there not to love about watching a movie from your car…with the ability to have the heat or air just right, to wrap up in a comfy blanket, with no sticky floors covered with Coke and popcorn. The first showing was the new Captain America (awesome!) and the second movie was Frozen. I fully admit that this was our second time watching Frozen in three days, but in our defense, we had only watched it for the first time three days before.
