Four things that make me happy this Friday…
1. Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palettes
I am very much a novice when it comes to fashion, hair, makeup, etc. For some reason, my mom never taught me these skills while I was growing up, and while I’m sure my friends cared, beauty techniques were never really a focus of our friendships. I’m slowly making progress when it comes to jewelry, scarves, and flatteringly-cut clothes, but most people still think I’m a young college student. (I know, I’ll appreciate that in about 10 years.) I decided that the next step is figuring out makeup to look more polished. I bought the Naked Basics matte palette and the Naked 2 eyeshadow palette, and hope to learn how to wear them without looking scary. (That really isn’t much of a worry as I tend to use a tiny, almost invisible amount and then think I’m wearing a ton.)
2. Words of Radiance
Brandon Sanderson’s second book in the Stormlight Archive came out this week. I made the wonderful mistake of reading the first one as soon as it was released back in 2010 and then realized I was going to be waiting at least 20 years for this story to come to a conclusion. I am somewhere around one-third to halfway through the book, and I love it so far!
3. Creative Workspace
I finally have a desk space again where I can spread out to do creative things! When we moved here last fall, my desk was commandeered as the TV stand for the bedroom. After 6 months of trying to squeeze between the desk and bed and being unable to do any kind of art or craft, I convinced my husband that an Ikea sofa table would be a much better choice for a TV stand, and that moving my desk in front of the window would fill an awkward space nicely. I am happy to say that we both love the new arrangement…me because I can work better, and him because he doesn’t walk into the desk in the dark.
4. Winter on the Plains
