Proposal

Geoff proposed on the 4th of July.

It was a long weekend, so I decided to go home to spend time with my family and Mrs. Maroney and come back Saturday night, so I could have time to study for class. When I got back to Fayetteville, I went over to Geoff's, as usual. He had his camera set up on his desk and had been taking pictures of my ring. This didn't tip me off to anything because he's been doing stuff like that ever since he got it--teasing me about wanting to see it, and showing it to everyone else. Geoff told me about a fireworks show in Springdale, but we didn't want to pay $6 per person just to see fireworks, so we decided to drive around and see if we could see them from the mall. We couldn't, but we did find a nice one put on by a church just north of the mall and pulled into a parking lot to watch.

The show was almost over when he turned to me and asked if I knew why he had been taking pictures of the ring earlier. He said it was because he knew he'd never get it back from me once I got it and then I realized he was holding the box. He claims he said "Will you marry me?" but all I remember is the "Will you" part, and I don't exactly remember it, but I know I said yes. I was in a bit of shock because I (along with both of our families) was expecting him to propose on the cruise he planned for later in the summer.
