Several years ago, a scrapbooker I admire began a project where she wrote down her favorite and most memorable things that happened each month and then scrapped them for an entire year. She titled it her "Faves" and eventually started to sell her templates so that we could join in. I loved this idea and have been doing it ever since, even though she has mostly retired from designing. I am a little behind though, seeing as I just now finished my scrapbooking my Faves from 2013 (and haven't finished 2012 yet).
I suppose I'll have to try my hand at designing my own list-type layouts to use for future Faves. In the meantime, here are my favorite memories from each month of 2013.
Yes, that is the same photo in 9 out of 12 months. Taking selfies is something I rarely do, maybe once a year, so I tend to overuse the decent ones. In hindsight though, it looks a little odd to see the same face every time, especially knowing that this photo was taken in 2014, not even the same year as the project. I suppose that’s something I will have to fix for the next round.
I think this project is going to be really cool to look back on in a few years. It documents a mix of the big and small things that make life wonderful. Sometimes I have been tempted to add in a couple of the negative things that have occurred, but so far I have managed to frame them in a positive way for the list. Even though I don’t know how I’ll scrapbook it in the future, I will definitely continue to make my lists each month.
